Clare Valley
Most of the times when people talk of going for a holiday, a majority always imagines of a place near the sea or a park with wildlife. This need not be so. There are other places that make interesting sites even though not endowed with these. Cultures and people can make a place a worthwhile visit. Such is the place that The Clare Valley is.
If you would like to experience the countryside of Australia then this is it. This is a rural home for a hard working community. The people here are friendly and easy going so to speak. You will also find this place rich in traditions that have been faithfully been passed down from one generation to another. There are festive harvests seasons all year round. Other than enjoying intermingling with the people, there are a few places that you would want to visit.
The Martindale Hall: It is a historical building that will give you an idea of how the rich lived in the past. It is located on a forty five acre piece of land which is now a conservatory park.
The original look of the house has been maintained through the years. The furniture and fittings are the same ones that were used by the occupants of this mansion. You can decide to spend the night here and experience the feel of living in another era altogether.
Historical Sevenhill Cellars: These are cellars that were started in the eighteen fifties. They were mainly built to produce sacramental wine. The Jesuit Priests were responsible for running them. It stands out because they are the only cellars run by men of the cloak.
The people of Clare Valley have a large interest in arts and therefore organize many festivals where they can show out their talents.
